Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was the director of a company that runs an internet networking system. She grew up in the prestigious Upper East Side of Manhattan within a Catholic family. She was accepted by her parents at the Convent of the Sacred Heart - a religious, elitist and private school. The passion for music started in the early years of a child. She learned to play the keyboard as a teenager and, when she was 13she composed her first music. She participated in open-mic nights. The singers she admired included queens Michael Jackson Madonna and David Bowie. When she finished high school she entered at the Tisch School of Art at New York University to study music. But after completing high school she enrolled in The Tisch School of Fine Arts at New York University to study music.
