Her mother is Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of the mobile operator Verizon. Her father was a businessman Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. Director of a network business. Her birthplace was and is as an Catholic in the city of Manhattan's Upper East Side. Because of this, her parents attended at the Convent of the Sacred Heart which is a revered religious institution. From the time she was a child, she has been a lover of music. She learned how to play the piano in the very beginning and composed her first original song at the age of thirteen. Open mic nights were her favorite. She was a fan of Queen Michael Jackson Madonna, as well as David Bowie. Upon completing high-school, she enrolled in the Tisch School of Art of New York University where she studied music. But she did not pursue her studies, and instead she quit the school to begin her music career.
